J.COSTA Group consistently gives back to the community through volunteer hours, in-kind donations and/or monetary contributions to help strengthen local nonprofit organizations and the people and families that they serve. As an active member of his community, José is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCMMO) since 1998 and he has served as Ambassador (2009 – 2010) and on its Board of Directors (2012-2015). He is the Founder and Past-Chairman of the HCCMO Leads Groups, an organization that empowers the local business community with access to resources and new business opportunities.

José is currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors of SOS Orlando, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide aid to individuals, families, and communities facing hardship and adversity due to natural disasters, personal loss, under-representation, and discrimination by amplifying collaborative philanthropic initiatives that bring positive social change.

José is currently serving as a Board Member of the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando focused on enhancing the post-secondary educational success of Hispanic students in Central Florida.  He assists in spearheading fundraising efforts for grant scholarships that ensure post-secondary completion rates of Hispanic students who can contribute to the Central Florida economy.

In 2019, José was appointed to serve on the Orange County Building Codes Board of Adjustments and Appeals, a role he currently continues to assume.

José Costa’s volunteerism and leadership in the Central Florida community has been celebrated by numerous awards and recognitions that include the following:

  • Recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in Central Florida by Vision Magazine in 2016
  • Recipient of the 2011 Don Quijote Awards for Professional of the Year
  • Featured as a one of the eight most “Successful Men in Central Florida” by Tu Revista Mujer magazine in the Summer 2021 edition.
